- Begin your journey with the Bocaina National Park, a place to go deep inside nature and Brazil’s history. The park is an Atlantic Forest protection reserve. Its diverse geography brings both fresh mountain air and tropical climate. So during the day enjoy the hot sun in the numerous waterfalls, trekking and mountain biking, and at night have hot chocolate in the astonishing view at the mountain top lodge. - This region is called today The Historical Valley, as fundamental Brazilian history events were written there. You can experience history by visiting coffee farms that go back to the colonial age, or choose to embrace an adventure crossing the Gold Trail, a 3 day walk through the Atlantic Forest, in the path used first for the native Indians and later for gold carriers to go from the interior to the coast. This adventure is an opportunity to penetrate the forest and meet the hospitality and local traditions. - The city of Paraty runs for the UNESCO title of World’s Cultural Heritage. Discover 498 years of history since the arrival of the Europeans. The city was one of the most important harbors in the new country, its prestige is translated into its perfect colonial architecture and rich chapters of Brazil’s history. - Among lots of attractions like the ecological horse ride, you will meet Paraty’s fantastic beaches of emerald green waters, some uninhabited and only reachable by boat, they are perfect for diving, sailing, kayaking, or just relaxing in the sun. The city is also known for its traditional distilleries, a good chance to visit the birth place of the famous “Caipirinha”. - Want to go further? Here’s the Mamanguá Sanctuary, the one and only “Tropical Fjord”, with inestimable ecological importance as the marine fauna use it as a nursery. Mamanguá is a rare place on the planet for its untouched nature and the preserved “Caiçara way of life” (fisherman, craftsman and small farmers) that keep their traditions in balance with the surrounding environment through the centuries. - In Mamanguá there’s no electricity, what makes it a perfect place to unplug from the rest of the world, and get in harmony with yourself. The traveler may feel that he doesn’t want to go back to large cities anymore. We understood that. You can reach the next destination by sailing, so you can travel along the Green Coast through water, with all its secret and precious beaches you would see only this way. - Ilhabela, a.k.a. “Beautiful Island” in Portuguese, is the biggest oceanic island in Brazil with 92% of its territory composed by untouched Atlantic Forest. Two of its beaches are considered the finest in all Brazilian territory. - Besides the spectacular nature, Ilhabela holds refined gastronomy and offers lots of outstanding activities. Have you ever dived into a wrecked vessel? Ilhabela has 21 sunken ships waiting for you to stop by. Also you can learn how to sail in a 40 feet ship. Waterfalls? Four hundred. Horseback riding? Yes. Out of the charts! - For those trekking maniacs we suggest the exotic Bonete Beach route. The trip begins with an old trail through the forest heading for Ilhabela’s oceanic side. The waterfalls and landscape are a delight. The beach is inhabited by a traditional “Caiçara” community. Isolated from civilization, they live in old fashioned way, with natural medicine and no electricity, but offering some luxury like the Canto Bravo lodge, the place where you will get comfy after a long walk, and have a good dinner by charming candle lights. - If we are talking about enhancing ecological consciousness, the perfect spot to go is the Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, a coffee farm since 1850, an example to all of us. - FAF owners decided to transform the old farm into a model of sustainable agriculture. The principal crop at FAF is organic coffee, grown according to the philosophy that agriculture can be sustainable not only ecologically, but also socially and economically. The farm goal is to sow a seed the Individual, to the Family, to the Business community and to Society as a whole, proving that we can be ecological, happy and profitable. At FAF the rule is simple: be Happy. Be our guest to learn about coffee plantation, sustainable practices, go horseback riding, swimming, rafting, canyoning, mountain biking, or just to rest and eat nice Brazilian food.
